Linsey Corbin Triathlon Camp!

Contact us to learn more about this camp!

The Cycling House will be playing host to the very best triathletes, and you’re invited to join. Your training partners will be pro traithletes Linsey Corbin and Brendan Halpin. Linsey won Ironman Coeur D’Alene this summer, was the top American at Ironman World’s in 2008, and can be found on the podium at almost every big race. Pro triathlete Brendan Halpin, also full-time staffer at The Cycling House, posted top 20 professional finishes in all but one of his races in 2010. The camp will focus on cycling, but it wouldn’t be a tri camp without running and swimming. So, we’ll have some great trail runs lined up and a few swim sessions on tap. After dinner you’ll have the chance to get all the answers for all the questions you’ve ever had about what’s the best way to fuel for an Ironman or how does one plan their season to peak at important races. Of course, all of this knowledge and hard work adds up to make you faster and more competitive come race day. Finally, you’ll get the litany of TCH services as well- like great food, fully supported rides, bike assembly, airport shuttles, and lots of fun! Come join us for a pre-Valentine’s day gift to your love of sport.

Rolling Thunder. One for the Record Books

The 2010 Rolling Thunder will go down in history. With perfect weather, record crowds coming out to cheer, a record number of racers, and more positive energy then one thousand yoga instructors, it was a weekend that won’t soon be forgotten. Sam Schultz pulled off an amazing performance by winning the 2010 Rolling Thunder!  He’ll keep the Axe for another year.

Red Danger Sidelined

Unfortunately, Red Danger won’t be gunning (at the sound of the gun…or a little early) for the whole shot this Saturday night at the 2010 Rolling Thunder but, that being said, he’ll still be enjoying himself by hanging with the fans.

Missoula Women’s Team Wins 24 Hour MTB National Championships!

Racing for Kent Brothers Automotive, Missoula, MT mountain bikers, Laurel Douglas, Anya Wechsler (TCH Staffer), Heidi Rentz (always a Missoulian at heart, Moab, UT resident on paper) and team captain Heidi Gaskill won the 4 person team competition in Moab, UT last weekend to take the 24 hour mountain bike National Championships!

Missoula girls on the top.

Kent Brothers Racing was represented by one women’s 4 person team and one men’s 4 person team. The solid men’s team consisting of some of Missoula’s toughest riders: Kiefer Hahn, Doug Shryock, Adam Jensen and Toby Meierbachtol.  The Cycling House was a secondary sponsor so the crew sported our new Cycling House Shorts.

The whole crew found out that a solid and reliable staff is an integral part of 24 hour racing. Bryce Daviess was lead mechanic, Matt Shryock was the head chef/NASA and Owen Gue mainly in charge of the lighting systems.

It turned out to be a full-time job for the staff. Here is the mechanic Bryce working on a bike at 1 am.

Matt S. never missed a beat. His Arithmatic was spot on and the food was amazing. Here he is chefing it up at 3am.

Waves, wine and winding roads – California Camp!

The inaugural Cycling House California camp is underway!  We’ve been busy here in San Luis Obispo, CA. Between surfing, eating amazing food, riding a few hours, sipping good wine and enjoying the scenery, it’s been hard to keep our site updated with what’s been going on. Here are a few pictures for starters but there is much more to come.

Prepare for Fall: Start Welding and Come to Cross Clinic

Cyclocross is just around the corner and nothing says cross like a good welding session. The two go hand -in-hand; It’s white hot, sparks are always flying, very dirty, chicks dig it and most of all it takes skill.  Here at The Cycling House we are are embracing the fall season by building things with metal, making sparks fly and fine tuning our cross skills at Montanacyclocross.com’s cyclocross clinic.

Bryce Daviess of Demontluzin Cycles has been working hard in the Fish Creek Farms Shop to help build the new Cycling House custom rack for the 15 passenger van.

Fish Creek Farms Shop

The Montanacyclocross.com CROSS CLINIC will teach you how to make sparks fly!

After you lay down a good bead in the welding shop you have to attend the Cyclocross clinic on September 11th in Missoula, MT. The clinic is put on by Shaun Radley (and crew) of montanacyclocross.com so you know it will be awesome! There will be elite cross riders teaching effective cross techniques, giving coaching and nutritional advise and copious (yet not redundant) amounts of Q&A. Missoula’s best bike mechanic will be on hand to give equipment and mechanical guidanace. Whether your a newbie curious to learn what Cyclocross is all about, or a seasoned cross rider wanting to reacquaint yourself with riding on dirt and grass, this is the perfect way to kick off your cross season! Check out the flyer below or click here to learn more. See you there!!!

Thule Racks for the New TCH Fleet.

If you’ve ever taken part in one of our camps then you know how imperative it is that we have a solid, reliable and efficient rack system for our vehicles. We often shuttle to and from ride routes, up and down mountain passes, through rain, wind and sunshine. We need a bike rack that works perfectly (and looks cool at the same time). That’s why we are proud to announce that Thule will be the official bike rack supplier for The Cycling House.

Caution: Thule racks can fill up a living room in no time. This is only part of the complete rack system for the new TCH vans.

Our 15 passenger van will be equipped with 15 – 2010 Thule Sidearms. This is an upright mounted bike carrier that takes seconds to securely lock a bike into place. The smaller passenger van will have 7 – 2010 Thule Echelon racks which is a fork mounted bike rack.  This is dialed in Swedish technology which has proven itself year after year.

21 bikes loaded up for another great ride in Tucson.

More pictures of our new Thule racks are coming soon. To learn more about Thule check out there website here.
